Debra completed a BVSc and MSc in marine ecology prior to qualifying as a vet from Massey University, New Zealand in 2007. She started her veterinary career in Auckland, New Zealand before moving to the UK in 2009 when she joined Kynoch Vets Easthampstead. In 2015 Debra decided she needed a break from the cold UK winters so she moved to Bermuda where she worked in a busy small animal hospital for 14 months before heading back to the UK to rejoin Kynoch Vets at our Crowthorne and North Ascot branches.
Although Debra has a keen interest in all aspects of general practice she has a particular interest in surgery having completed a GP Certificate in Small Animal Surgery in 2014, and a developing interest in sports dog medicine, post operative rehabilitation, acupuncture and management of chronic pain. She is currently working towards a GP Certificate in Acupuncture and Chronic Pain Management as her first step in expanding into this field.
Debra is married to Mike (also a Kiwi!) and has a cat named George (adopted in the UK) who she took to Bermuda with her where he hated the heat but enjoyed chasing lizards! Outside of work Debra’s main interest is travel and is always on the look out for new places to visit and explore. She also loves the outdoors, scuba diving, dog sledding (but unfortunately only gets to go every few years), running and since living in Bermuda she has developed a passion for paddle boarding which she is hoping to be able to continue in the UK.
Nick qualified at Cambridge in 1983. He divides his time between our Wokingham and our North Ascot Surgery. Nick’s special interests are Dermatology and Exotic Pets. In his spare time he has a keen interest in Target rifle shooting, and hand making his own ties. Nick and his wife have two children: Rosie and Alistair and two pet cats called Jaffa and Digby.
